About Us

Our business started as a hobby.  We drink a lot of coffee so my husband thought it would make sense to try roasting our own coffee.  As a former homebrewer, this was not surprising.  A cast iron skillet, green beans, and the oven in our kitchen was the start.    Having done many great roasts in the skillet, it was time to "up his game" and move to a tabletop roaster.  As an engineer, it was easy for him to "geek out" on learning roast profiles.  

As part of my husband's hobby, I would take samples of his work to friends for them to try and give us feedback.  The salon I go to has a fancy coffee machine, so I figured why not take some for them to try.  As I sat in the chair and chatted about this new hobby, I had no idea that the person two chairs down was an accomplished scientist.  She gave me her name and number, she wanted someone to produce a coffee product for her - a functional beverage.  

Who knew that there would also be a roastery for sale, right by where we lived.

Here we are, not even a year after meeting the "good doctor" (as we call her) selling wholesale and retail beans and getting ready to launch a functional coffee and tea.
